Where a collector encounters it
The role may appear on an estate invoice, auction consignment, ownership-transfer document, inventory, or correspondence. An intermediary may instead contract with a trust, foundation, or other authorized party.
What it does not establish
The title alone does not show the scope or current validity of authority over a particular artwork. Buyers should rely on the transaction’s documented seller and terms and seek legal advice when authority or title is material or disputed.
