Dry mounting
A mounting method that uses heat and pressure to activate adhesive and bond an artwork or image broadly to a board.
Why it matters
It may appear in a framing quote or be discovered when an older poster, photograph, or work on paper is removed from its frame.
Common misunderstanding
A flat presentation can come at the cost of difficult or impossible reversal, so dry mounting is not a default choice for valuable original works without qualified advice.
